Meeting Spaces

At Medomak, our core values are simple living, a sense of community and a healthy respect for the environment. Tucked within the spruce-pine forest are an assemblage of meeting spaces which reflect these values.

Historic Lodge

Our Historic Lodge is like taking a step back in time. The first structure built at Medomak, it maintains its original birch wood floors, a stone fireplace and raised stage. The lodge will comfortably accommodate up to 50 people for lectures, classroom work or social events. A covered porch at the front of the lodge provides space for 20+ people. It is the ideal place for for open meetings, happy hour, or picnic lunches. The large airy Dining Room is the perfect spot for home style meals. By far the largest meeting space on the property, the Dining Room can accomodate over 100 people for banquets, lectures and other events. For more private meetings, there are four breakout rooms, a game room and a library in the lower level of the lodge. Wi-fi connectivity is available throughout the building.

Barn

Our turn of a century barn is newly renovated and exudes the charm of the old and the comfort of the new. Offering an open functional interior it has two levels of meeting space including a Great Room with a raised stage, a loft and vestibule. The barn is completely insulated which allows for temperature control and extraneous sound. The space is well lit space which allows musicians the ability to easily read music. The Great Room and Loft will accommodate up to 50 and 20 people respectively. The adjacent North Room has space for up to 20 people.

Outside Spaces

The Maples is an amphitheatre style chapel located just uphill from the lodge at the end of a short path into the forest. Tiered seating will accommodate 60+ people and a speaker can be clearly seen and heard from a stone podium at the lower end. The Maples is also the site of Medomak’s century old meditation seat, a place for quiet and individual reflection.

Further removed from campus is Sunset Lodge, a rustic lean-to overlooking the lake and western skyline. Ten to fifteen people may gather here for small meetings or overnight campouts.

Stroll through our organic gardens. We grow herbs and vegetables that daily grace our table. Our well tended flower garden is the perfect spot for a photo op!

If you think outside the box, there are endless possiblilities for outdoor gatherings on Medomak’s campus and we are happy to work with your unique ideas. When you’re running a program at the Medomak Retreat Center, our home is your home!
